Another great week in 2nd Grade! Our class has been having great lunchroom and earned the second extra recess this week over the other 2nd grade classes!
Fundraiser: Due September 6th. Only a little bit over a week left. Keep working hard and selling orders.
Band-aids: Our class is in need of band-aids for our little ouchies! Thanks!
Class Dojo: I have been a little more strict on Dojo points this week so that students are understanding their boundaries. Also, some days I have not been giving as much as I did last week. As I usually say, “Doesn’t matter how many positive Dojo Points, as long as they have no negative points they have had a good day.” :)
What We Have Been Learning:
Writing: Writing Small Moments (Focusing on a small story and not a large topic. This helps us from writing I did this, then I did this, and then this. Just choosing one “this” to write about in detail.)
Reading: Learning to Launch Daily 5, learning how good readers read, 3 ways to read a book, and literacy skills: predicting, evaluating, and making connections
Math: Fluently Add and Subtract Within 20 (Addition Strategies, Doubles and Near Doubles, Make 10 to Add)Social Studies: Communities (Families and Friends)
